Course studies one or more of foundational documents of world's major religions, from humanistic viewpoint. For this semester, the text of focus is the New Testament. Students will be introduced to it by reading some important passages in the Hebrew Bible (the Christian Old Testament), and, through films and other presentations, to the history of New Testament times. The main task will be to read the New Testament writings themsleves and participate in class discussions of them. No prerequisites. Course fulfills the humanities requirement.
