As part of our service to the Oakton Community College community, our department maintains a list of resources to Internet sites that support research in Philosophy. Students should feel free to use these resources as they would a traditional library, of course with the same regard for all the rules of proper academic research.

Read about two women who are among the winners of the Nobel Prize in 2004. Austrian feminist Elfriede Jelinek, one of the most famous women writing in German, has been given the Nobel Prize in Literature for 2004 in recognition of her power with language in novels and plays that explore society's clichés and their subjugating power. The Nobel Peace Prize has been given to Wangari Maathai for her work in sustainable development and peace in Africa. |
