I
was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. I attended Whitney
M. Young High School on Chicago’s west side, and Morehouse College
in Atlanta, Georgia. Although I was a psychology major at Morehouse,
I spent more time studying and preparing for my all-night religion/
philosophy debates with my friends than I did for my psych courses.
This affinity for religion and theology served as the impetus for
my deciding to attend the Chicago Theological Seminary upon graduation.
There, I earned a Master of Divinity degree and am currently completing
my Ph.D. in Theology, Ethics and Culture
In the classroom,
I like to see myself as a facilitator of learning processes. For
me, the classroom should be a hub for meaningful learning experiences,
wherein students are challenged, enlightened and invited to be more
inquisitive. I absolutely love teaching, which comes second only
to spending time with my wife and six children.
