Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration
Technology
This Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology curriculum
develops the skills needed to evaluate the performance of air conditioning
and refrigeration systems and to assess energy consumption. The students
also learn principles and methods of energy conservation. Graduates can
seek employment with consulting engineering companies as engineering assistants
capable of designing and laying out mechanical systems.
Students who earn a certificate in Residential Comfort Control or Residential
Comfort Systems Installer will learn the fundamentals of residential
comfort systems. Upon completion of either program, students are able
to install and service the most common residential heating and cooling
systems. Students who earn a Boiler Operations certificate will develop
skills to continue studies toward a Stationery Engineer's License.
