Law Enforcement (LAE)
The Law Enforcement curriculum is designed to help prepare men and women
for careers in the field of law enforcement – in police and sheriffs’ departments,
federal and state agencies, retail/hospital/industrial security and for
private investigative agencies. More and more law enforcement agencies
are requiring applicants to have college credit or degrees. The curriculum
also serves to help individuals already employed by law enforcement agencies
to improve their skills. Some LAE courses transfer to baccalaureate programs
in criminal justice, law enforcement or related areas; see the Student
Services Center or chairperson for details. Though not part of the curriculum,
students may find it useful to take FIR 100 to prepare for the Law Enforcement
Entrance Examination.
