Teaching Philosophy:

Community College students come from very diverse backgrounds in terms of ability, educational experience, preparedness, ethnicity, age etc. My philosophy of teaching is to try to reach every student I come in contact with through respect for who they are and what brings them to this point in their education. My goal is to support students and nurture their basic need for achievement and positive self-esteem

Other Information:

I am married and I have four children ages: 22, 19, 18 and 4. My three older children all took advantage of Oakton's programs to some extent.

I know what it means to grieve a significant loss because I have endured the loss of my first wife to cancer. Students who have experienced loss may find it useful to spend time talking with me.
