COURSES TAUGHT
PSY 107 Applied Psychology: The Psychology of Personal Growth
HSV 122 Assessment and Treatment of the Chemically Dependent

Teaching Philosophy:

Given that the course I teach is one of preparation to enter the field of addictions counseling as a professional, I try to address professionalization issues and structure assignments to provide a glimpse into addictions from a professional's perspective. I hope to set an example of professional behavior, attitudes and approach to the subject matter in order to model for students the behavior, attitudes and approach to their assignments in class. I hope to prepare them well enough to arrive at their practicum placement and feel that they can draw upon concepts presented in class in a concrete and practical manner as well as feel confident as they encounter new experiences at the practicum site.
