WHAT JOB MARKET NEEDS

Do you have the credentials and training needed to
succeed in today's tough job market?

Research by the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that in the 21 st Century people will need more education beyond high school than ever before. However, that education does not have to be specifically degree-related. Employers are looking for all kinds of education and training that will bring value to their businesses. More and more certificates and certifications are becoming the standard "currency" to tell employers what you can do for them. At Oakton many people with degrees and without are coming to take courses and earn certificates that mean something to them and their employers. They are discovering that the certificates provide focused education that develops valuable skills employers are willing to pay for.

Oakton is leading the way by continually developing courses and certificates that provide you with the skills you need to advance your career, change to a new career, or simply do your current job better. We strive to make these both interesting to you and valuable to your company. We have based these skills identified by employers in a national survey and from information we have gained by talking to our many professionals on our industry advisory boards. Some of our most recent additions include certificates in Leadership Excellence for all managers, Professional Consulting, Pharmaceutical Sales, E-Commerce, Human Resources, Marketing for Nonprofit organizations and CPA Preparation for those wishing to become professional accountants. These all complement our many degrees and certificates in Real Estate, Financial Services, General Business (including small business), Management and Supervision, and Marketing.

Let us help you better understand what your company may be looking for and how we can help you meet your career goals through an educational plan that fits you and your company. We are always looking for good students who know what they want to do and are willing to become a part of the Oakton family. Your first step is to call Sue Cisco, who will be happy to find the right program for you. She can be reached at 847.635.1872. Business classes start throughout the year.
