What is the Community Saying About  Service Learning

Having a college student in the classroom was a wonderful asset.  They children enjoyed her very much, appearing interested and reciptive during her instructions.  this student consistently extended herself throughout the school year, often working beyond what was expected. My student volunteer did such a great job with the children (whose parents were enrolled in a weight-reduction program).  They loved having a man play games with them and the boys really liked playing ball and wrestling with him.  Some of the moms told me their kids got made if they didn't attend the weekly meetings, because they enjoyed spending time with the student volunteer. My student volunteer has a very strong, positive attitude towards learning for herself as well as the first grade students.  She always has a professional behavior.  Her efforts as a volunteer developed confidence in all the students who worked with her, as well as in herself. All I can say is that my student volunteer was very helpful to our organization.  We only have two staff and on some nights up to 100 kids, so we rely on volunteers very much.  This student's attitude, effort, and behavior were all wonderful. This student's attitude and behavior were incredible.  I have never seen a young adult with such respect and dedication.  He really knows what commitment is.  He was focused on his services and willing to do anything for the betterment of the community.
