Learning Outcomes

The Business curriculum prepares students who will declare business majors at a four year university filling required courses in Introduction to Business, Business Law, Legal Environment of Business, Business Ethics, Introduction to Finance and Personal Finance. Students are required to take general education courses and recommended beginning business courses in law, accounting, management, marketing, computer applications and economics. The program also includes two certificates; Applied Business Certificate and Customer Service which concentrates on basic skill sets in business. (See check list for Certificates)

Encourage students interested in a Business major to complete Math as far as Calculus but at the least business Statistics.

Applied Business Certificate

This is a comprehensive certificate that encompasses business skills in the following areas; communications, accounting, math, computer applications, management, marketing and human relations. Graduates will be qualified for entry level positions in businesses.

  1. Perform a SWOT analysis.
  2. Develop a business plan.
  3. Demonstrate professional communication skills appropriate for a business setting.

Customer Service Certificate

Provides the courses needed to prepare students for customer service positions including training in management, marketing, human relations and business etiquette. Graduates will be qualified for entry level customer service positions.

  1. Perform a SWOT analysis.
  2. Navigate and respond to a customer complaint.
  3. Demonstrate professional communication skills appropriate for a business setting.
