Speaking and Listening

EGL 078 Speaking and Listening for Non-Native Speakers I Prerequisite: Placement into Oakton ESL reading/writing courses (using WSAT and DRP scores) or oral interview.

EGL 079 Pronunciation for the Non-Native Speaker I Prerequisite: Moderately good ability to read and understand English, reflected by placement in Oakton's college ESL courses, or consent of instructor.

EGL 081 Speaking and Listening for Non-Native Speakers II Prerequisite: EGL 078 or permission of instructor or ESL coordinator.

Grammar

EGL 082 Basic Grammar for the Non-Native Speaker Prerequisite: Placement in EGL 074 or higher.

EGL 083 Intermediate Grammar for the Non-Native Speaker Prerequisite: Placement in EGL 076; students receiving and EGL 076 placement after completing EGL 076 should enroll in EGL 082.

January 21 noon
Last day to submit proof of residency, business service agreements and chargebacks/joint agreements.

February 12
Last day to withdraw from 16-week courses and have course dropped from record.

February 12
Last day to change to audit for 16-week courses.

February 19
Incomplete (I) grades from fall 2011 semester for which faculty have not submitted final grades will become an "F" after this date.

February 20
Presidents' Day holiday, College closed.

March 10 noon
Last day for filing Graduation Petitions.

March 11
Last day to withdraw with a "W" from 16-week courses; Students will receive a grade in all courses in which they are enrolled after March 11.

March 12-18
Spring recess.

March 19
Classes resume after spring recess.

March 26
Registration opens for summer 2012.

April 9
Registration opens for fall 2012.
