Learning Outcomes

The Global Business curriculum prepares students for employment in global business, importing and exporting and international marketing, upon completion of the certificate. Graduates may qualify as managers within the international business department of a business organizations, entrepreneurs, import and exporters and international logistics managers. The program offers a certificate in Global Business.

Hours from this certificate may be applied to either the AAS degree in Management and supervision or the AAS degree in Marketing Management.

Foreign language skills and participation in foreign travel recommended.

Global Business Certificates

Two certificates provide knowledge and practice in Global Business including areas of studies such as: Economic Geography, Global Business and Marketing, Foreign Trade Documentation and Importing and Exporting. These certificates prepare students for employment in global business, importing and exporting and global marketing upon completion of the certificate. Students can opt for a technical track that includes coursework in documentation and logistics or the strategic management aspect of global management.

Graduates may qualify as managers within the international business department of business organizations, entrepreneurs, import and exporters and international logistics managers. Students who already have a bachelor’s degree in another field may use this certificate as an addition to their credentials.

Global Business Technical Certificate

Learning Objectives

  1. Develop a business plan for a global business with consideration to the differences in customs and business practices throughout the world.
  2. Identify strategies for planning of logistics and proper execution of global trade documentation.
  3. Prepare importing and exporting documentation forms.

Global Business Certificate

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss concepts of corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
  2. Develop a business plan for a global business with consideration to the differences in customs and business practices throughout the world.
  3. Examine foreign exchange markets and the implementation of the markets by global business stakeholders (e.g. trader of currencies, the hedger and the international importer/exporters).
  4. Apply concepts from specific professional track certificate courses (operations or marketing/management) to global business.
