       Course Name: Industrial Design Engineering Techniques

Recommended: CAD 105.

III.   Course (Catalog) Description

Course continues CAD 105 to increase skills for creating prototypes of computer models using 3-D modeling software. Hands-on lab course involves critical thinking skills related to industrial design and manufacturing. Content includes industrial techniques such as extrusions, laser cutting, fasteners, welding, sheet metal production, injection molding, and stereo lithography; production process utilizing computer-controlled machining centers and prototyping equipment.

IV.   Learning Objectives

This course is an introduction to Emergency Response Solutions with emphasis on using computer assisted design, database and surveillance applications.

  • Students will construct Computer Aided Design pre-plans.
  • Students will develop an emergency pre-plan for a high risk occupancy.
  • Students will create a pre-plan that can assist emergency management personnel.

V.    Academic Integrity and Student Conduct

If you are found to have violated the policy, the minimum penalty is failure on the assignment and, a disciplinary record will be established and kept on file in the office of the Vice President for Student Affairs for a period of 3 years.

Drawings will be graded according to standard drawing conventions provide on assignment sheets, notes and handouts.  Late submissions will incur a 10% late fee.
