Physical Education

Oakton's physical dducation department provides students with the most updated research and contemporary teaching strategies to ensure total body fitness and life-long learning. A variety of fitness/wellness courses take advantage of a well-equipped Fitness Center supervised by qualified professors/instructors. Other classes focus on theory and practice of sport skills and target prospective physical educators and/or coaches. Some courses appeal to the working student who prefers a media-based approach or whose schedule does not allow for traditional class meetings. With this first-rate program, recent PED students have attained careers in teaching, coaching, recreation, and some medical fields.
