Which Term? When registering online, you need to know which term your class is in. Here is how to tell: Fall classes have a -0 in the course code (e.g., ART C79-04). Summer classes have a -3 in the course code (e.g., ART C79-31). In addition, Fall CRN numbers begin with 6, (e.g., CRN 62081). Summer CRN numbers begin with 5 (e.g., CRN 50543). Please do not  put two terms on the same registration form! e.g: Spring and Summer.

INTRODUCTION TO VISUAL COMMUNICATION*        Fee: $348
Course covers the fundamental principles of design and how these relate to effective communication. It explores the media and tools that create imaging and how these tools are integrated into the image-making process. Topics include conceptual design, critical thinking in the creation of practical design, how design relates to industry, human perception and the visual process, and the history of visual communication, from the symbols of the cave man to modern-day advertising. This class may also be taken for college credit.

INTRODUCTION TO RADIO AND TELEVISION
COMMUNICATIONS*                                                        Fee: $273
This course is an introduction to electronic media, focusing on its development, function and artistry. Course includes studio practices, procedures and demonstrations as related to radio and television broadcasting, cable casting and closed circuit applications. Hands-on production experience reinforces theoretical material. Course will be taught by two-way video between campuses.

YOU’RE ON THE AIR
(HOW TO REALLY MAKE IT IN VOICE-OVERS!)                   Fee: $50
Voice-overs are hot today! With such notable talent as James Earl Jones, Linda Hunt, and Donald Sutherland lending their voices to commercials, films, and videos, one would think that it would be next to impossible to break into this field. Not so! Learn about an exciting new way to get around the competition and actually turn voice-overs into a thriving full or part-time business! Brian Thon, successful voice-over artist, will demonstrate voice-over technique and introduce students to the voice-over industry. He will talk about the numerous opportunities, the income potential, and the all-important demo and how to have it produced. You’ll step up to the microphone to do some practice recording and, best of all, hear the results!
