THE 13TH ANNUAL

MEN’S

DAY

Session III
3:15 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

BECOMING A MAN THROUGH AUTHENTICITY
Steve Wallman.
Experience a sense of freedom and connection with others as each participant’s “authentic self” is revealed in a safe container created by the group. Obtain tools to remain authentic, and to move toward more balance in relationships with others.

HEALING SHAME THROUGH DISCOVERY
John Everingham, Andrew Fash, and Alan Levin.
Shame becomes toxic when we try to avoid it, or move too quickly to anger, fear or emotional shutdown. Shame loses toxicity when a man allows himself to name it, feel it, talk about it, joke about it, and finally,
make friends with it. We’ll practice techniques for doing just that, providing maximum safeguards, in this intensely personal workshop.

MEN AND MEDIA
Kenn Skorupa.
This presentation addresses how media images and messages influence masculinity. Starting with the messages delivered to children and adolescents, we will continue to observe how the media portrays male development and the expectations of men. Participants will have time to reflect and share their experiences.

CARE AND FEEDING OF YOUR OWN MEN'S GROUP
Richard Reid.
Are you interested in starting a men’s group, or in finding ways to breathe new life into an existing group? Take the first steps at this discussion and experiential workshop.

ManDate: MEN AND FRIENDSHIPS
Jonathon Levy and Michael Vernon.
Upon reaching adulthood, men often find themselves isolated from close male relationships, resulting in feelings of loneliness, disconnection, and frustration. Utilizing their clinical experience and personal friendship, Jonathon Levy and Michael Vernon invite participants to discuss their own friendships with other men.

THE SHADOW POWER OF MEN—VICTORIES OF THE HEART
Kurt Schultz.
Men often fear their own power. By focusing on their fear, anger, and rage, participants learn body-centered exercises designed to access and channel power.

MYTHS TO DIE FOR
Bill Janssens.
Is the myth you are living today the one you want to carry to the grave? Through self-exploration and discovery, learn to rewrite the myths that exist in your life.

HEALING AN ABUSIVE CHILDHOOD
Stu Frank.
This workshop discusses the connection between childhood mistreatment and difficulties in adulthood. Learn techniques for healing and releasing oneself from the
legacy of the past, as advocated by the Adult Survivors of Child Abuse (ASCA).

RELATIONSHIP Rx
George Sachs.
Learn to enhance the relationships in your life by accessing your power and accepting your fears.
