The exhibition, Milestones of Photography, explores the evolution of photography with highlights from the collection of the International Photography Hall of Fame & Museum. This fascinating journey starts with miniature daguerreotypes and ambrotypes of the mid-1800s. It presents the experiments of images in motion by Edweard Muybridge and travels through the breakthrough work of Stieglitz and Steichen. It includes Ansel Adams’s astonishing pictorial of the West, Yousuf Karsh’s portrait of Winston Churchill and Dorothea Lange’s portrait of the Great Depression. The exhibit documents contemporary photography from the 1950s to the 1990s. The 12 photogravure prints from Camera Work are part of the collection of prints recently donated by the Brooks Foundation to the International Photography Hall of Fame & Museum.
