Enroll in a variety of art courses offered by the
Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College this fall.
Painting with Pastels (ART B34-01) demonstrates how
to work with pastels, which are mixed on paper rather than on a palette.
All skill levels are welcome. Students are asked to bring a small
pastel set and pastel papers or rough boards to class. Eight-week
course meets 7 – 10 p.m., Monday, starting Sept. 22, at Niles
North High School, 9800 Lawler Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $150.
Photography II (ART E03-01) is geared for students
who want to further “develop” their basic still photography
skills. Students supply their own camera. Eight-week course meets
7 – 9:30 p.m., Monday, starting Sept. 22, at Niles North High
School. Course fee is $169.
Watercolor Painting (ART B19-01) instructs how to
create dynamic and balanced compositions using watercolors. All skills
levels are welcome. Students are asked to bring a watercolor pad or
paper, watercolor brush, and three paint colors to the first class.
Eight-week course meets 7 – 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, starting Sept.
23, at Glenbrook South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., Glenview. Course
fee is $135.
Portraits (ART E63-01) teaches how to draw and paint
people. Explore composition, anatomy, color, and achieving a likeness.
All skill levels are welcome. Eight-week course meets 7 – 9:30
p.m., Wednesday, starting Sept. 24, at Niles North High School. Course
fee is $135.
