by the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College.
Introduction
to Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (AIR A06-01) consists of
lectures, demonstrations, and lab experiences in the area of basic
refrigeration. Sixteen-week class meets 5 - 10:15 p.m., Fridays, starting
Jan. 21, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Course
fee is $288.
Private
Pilot Rating (TEC A35-01) helps students prepare for the FAA Private
Pilot Rating written exam. Course covers meteorology, navigation,
traffic control, and use of the E6-8 computer. Fourteen-week class
meets 7 - 10 p.m., Tuesdays, starting Feb. 8, at Glenbrook South High,
4000 Lake Ave., Glenview. Course fee is $150.
Basic
AutoCAD 2004/2005 (DES A03-01) familiarizes students with drafting
and design. Sixteen-week course meets 5:30 - 8:50 p.m., Tuesdays,
starting Jan. 18, at the Des Plaines campus. Course fee is $241.
Food
Service Sanitation Supervision (BUS A50-01) prepares students
for the Illinois Department of Public Health certification exam. Topics
include sanitary food handling and maintaining a safe food environment.
Seven-week class meets 7 - 9:30 p.m., Wednesdays, starting Feb. 2,
at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Ave., Skokie. Course fee is
$187.
Other
job development classes include: Using the Internet to Teach and
Save Time (TCR A01-300), Personal Training Certification
(PED C03-01), Principles of Marketing (MAR A01-01), and Small
Business Accounting Procedures (ACC A01-01).
