Expand Horizons Through Oakton Classes

Explore a variety of new interests by enrolling in classes offered through the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College.

Cooking Around the World (HEC C26-01) teaches how to create delicious ethnic dishes. Four-week course meets 7 - 9 p.m., Mondays, starting Nov. 15, at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $85.

Understanding Wall Street (FIN E06-01) covers the fundamentals of investing. Three-week seminar meets 7 - 9 p.m., Tuesdays, starting Nov. 2, at Glenbrook South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., Glenview. Course fee is $69.

Adoption Options (PSY C16-01) provides a forum for prospective adoptive parents to have their questions answered. One-week seminar meets 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, at Maine East High School, 2601 Dempster St., Park Ridge. Course fee is $20.

College Choices Got You Tied in Knots? Untangle the Confusion Now (PSY C25-02) explains how to research colleges and interpret rankings. One-week course meets 7 - 9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Maine West High School, 1755 S. Wolf Road, Des Plaines. Course fee is $25.

Birding Field Trip: Indiana Dunes and Sandhill Cranes (BOT E32-01) provides a day of bird watching on Saturday, Nov. 6. Round-trip transportation to the Indiana Dunes provided from Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe. Course fee is $109.
