Oakton
Community College's Alliance for Lifelong Learning offers "Difficult
Discussions: How to Address What Matters Most," on Thursday, March
25, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf
Road. This seminar is led by author Michael Cohen, a nationally
recognized expert on workplace communications.
Designed
for anyone who deals with sensitive workplace communication issues,
participants in this course will learn how to speak up, check assumptions,
handle rumors, negotiate expectations, solve problems, and deliver
feedback, all in a constructive manner.
Cohen
is the author of On-the-Job Survival: A Guide for Dealing with
Everyday Work Problems, and The Power of Self-Management.
He also is an experienced consultant.
The fee
for this one-day seminar is $98 and includes a continental breakfast
and lunch. Registration is available by mail, fax, or in person at
