Time-challenged individuals seeking to improve computer skills are
invited to enroll in Quickie Tech: A New Series for Busy People,
offered through the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community
College. These two-week courses meet Mondays, 2:30 - 5 p.m., at Oakton's
Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.
Register
for the entire series of computer courses or pick and choose classes
to suit your needs. Courses are designed for those with little or
no computer experience. The entire series of three courses is $160;
individual classes are $60 each.
Windows
XP: Mouse Operations (DPR E01-02) demonstrates how to perform
basic mouse operations such as point, click, open, minimize, and maximize.
Class begins March 20.
Windows
XP: Working on the Windows Desktop (DPR E02-02) shows how
to use your desktop to create and save documents, as well as how to
open and modify documents. Class begins April 3.
Windows
XP: File and Folder Maintenance (DPR E07-02) provides instruction
in how to use "My Computer," "My Documents," and "My Pictures" to
arrange and sort files. Course begins April 17.
