This summer, work toward your Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
certificate by enrolling in computer courses offered through the Alliance
for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College. All featured courses
are $340 and meet at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln
Ave., Skokie.
Introduction
to Networking (INT A01-31) presents networking and general
network concepts, along with theories involved with routing and routing
protocols. Seven-week course meets Thursdays, 6 - 10 p.m., starting
June 8.
Principles
of Internet Routing (INT A02-31) concentrates on routing,
routers, and IOS router configurations. Seven-week class meets 6 -
10 p.m., Tuesdays, starting June 6.
Advanced
Routing and Switching (INT A03-31) covers access lists, LAN
segmentation, switches, network congestion, and spanning tree protocol.
Gain experience using Cisco routers and switches. Seven-week course
meets 6 - 10 p.m., Mondays, starting June 5.
Network
Interfacing Techniques (INT A04-31) includes hands-on experience
with routers and covers various WAN services including LAPB, frame
relay, PPP, and DDR. Seven-week course meets 6 - 10 p.m., Mondays,
starting June 5.
