Figure
Sculpture (ART C25-01) demonstrates how to sculpt the human figure
in various forms. Eight-week course meets 6:30 - 9 p.m., Thursdays,
starting Feb. 3, at Maine East High School, 2601 Dempster St., Park
Ridge. Course fee is $150.
The
History and Art of Papercutting (ART C26-01) provides instruction
in this imaginative creative art, which allows students to develop
projects ranging from puppets to greeting cards. Six-week course meets
7 - 9 p.m., Tuesdays, starting Feb. 1, at Maine East High School.
Students are asked to bring an X-Acto knife, scissors, and a small
cutting board to class. Course fee is $75.
Wearable
Art: Paint a Silk Scarf (ART C97-01) teaches techniques to create
finished silk pieces that are becoming popular fashion accessories.
One-week course meets 7 - 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Glenbrook
South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., Glenview. Course fee is $45.
Explore
the Beauty of Basket Weaving (ART C23-01) demonstrates the time-honored
tradition of weaving a decorative basket. One-week course meets 6:45
- 9:45 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, at Maine West High School, 1755 S.
Wolf Road, Des Plaines. Course fee is $45.
Creative
Woodcarving (ART C32-01) provides instruction in the art of woodcarving
under the guidance of a master woodcarver. Eight-week course meets
7 - 9:30 p.m., Wednesdays, starting Feb. 2, at Maine West High School.
A materials fee of $40 is due at the first class session. Course fee
is $150.
