The
Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College offers
a variety of courses for hobby enthusiasts this spring. Courses are
available evenings and weekends at various locations.
Glass
Fusing: A Passion for Jewelry (ART B26-01) shows how to create
pendants, pins, and other jewelry, from an instructor with more than
25 years of experience. Two-week course meets Monday, 7 - 9 p.m.,
starting Feb. 4, at Maine West High School, 1755 S. Wolf Road, Des
Plaines. A materials fee of $15 is due at the first course session.
Course fee is $46.
Introduction to Photography (ART E02-03) reveals
the basics of black and white photography. Seven-week course meets
Tuesday, 6:30 - 9 p.m., starting Feb. 5, at Evanston Township High
School, 1600 Dodge Ave., Evanston. Course fee is $150.
EBay
101 (BUB E32-02) teaches how to earn money by selling items
on the popular auction Web site, eBay. The instructor is a certified
eBay specialist who has completed more than 1,800 transactions. Two-week
course meets Tuesday, 6:30 - 8:45 p.m., starting Feb. 5, at Glenbrook
South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., Glenview. Course fee is $69.
For
Men Only: How to Cook (HEC E07-01) demonstrates how to create
basic, but tasty meals for the entire family. Three-week class meets
Thursday, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., starting Feb. 7, at the North Shore Senior
Center, 161 Northfield Road, Northfield. Course fee is $160.
