finance and fitness are the subject of upcoming courses offered by
the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College. Classes
are available evenings and weekends at various locations.
Dick
Tracy on Film - 70 Years of Crime Stopping (HUM F01-01) examines
the big screen incarnations of this famous fictional detective. Five-week
class meets 6:45 - 9:45 p.m., Tuesday, starting Feb. 12, at Evanston
Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave., Evanston. Course fee is $94.
How
to Fund College Without Going Broke (FIN E19-02) offers tips
on how to save thousands of dollars on a college education. Course
meets 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 14, at Niles West High School, 5701
Oakton St., Skokie. Course fee is $29.
NIA
for Seniors (PED C01-01) is designed to improve flexibility
for those aging with grace. Neuromuscular Integrative Action (NIA)
combines modern dance, martial arts, and ancient healing forms. Five-week
course meets 10 - 11 a.m., Monday, starting Feb. 18, at the Prairie
View Community Center, 6834 Dempster St., Morton Grove. Course fee
is $63.
Other
available courses include: Bartending Certification (BAR T05-01),
Introduction to Aromatherapy (HEA C01-01), and Conversational Italian
(ITL B03-01).
