evenings and weekends at various locations.
The
No Child Left Behind Act: Promise vs. Performance (PSE B28-01)
examines the ambitious 2001 education legislation. Session meets 5:30
- 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701
N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $22.
Knitting
- Adapted to Your Level (HEC S20-03) demonstrates basic knitting
stitches and techniques to complete any project at any skill level.
Eight-week course meets Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., starting Sept.
12, at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave., Evanston. Course
fee is $60. The cost of materials is not included in the course fee.
Arabic
Reading Group (LAR B01-01) is focused on reading articles
from Arabic newspapers. Newspapers will be provided, but students
will need to purchase an Arabic/English dictionary. Twelve-week course
meets Wednesday, 7 - 9:30 p.m., starting Sept. 12, at Maine West High
School, 1755 S. Wolf Road, Des Plaines. Course fee is $194.
Mystery
Shopping: Get Paid to Shop (BUB E34-01) gives tips on how
to be a "secret shopper" for stores, restaurants, and other businesses.
Course meets 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15, at Oakton's Ray
Hartstein Campus. Course fee is $29.
