Get
in step by enrolling in dance classes offered by the Alliance for
Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College. Courses are available
evenings and weekends at various locations.
Beginning
Ballroom Dancing (PED S61-03) teaches basic step patterns
for several popular ballroom dances. Six-week course meets Wednesday,
7:35 - 8:35 p.m., starting Jan. 16, at Niles North High School, 9800
Lawler Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $49.
Line
Dance (PED S58-02) demonstrates popular line dancing techniques.
No partner needed. Three-week class meets Thursday, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.,
starting Jan. 17, at Maine East High School, 2601 Dempster St., Park
Ridge. Course fee is $49.
Mad
Hot Ballroom Dance (PED D01-01) provides instruction for
the tango, rumba, and cha-cha-cha. No prior experience or partner
required. Six-week course meets Friday, 7:35 - 8:35 p.m., starting
Jan. 18, at Oakton's Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave. Course fee
is $49.
Other
available classes include: Sizzling Salsa Dance: Marvelous Merengue,
Cumbia, and Bachata (PED E8801), Travel the World for Free (REC E05-01),
Welding (TEC A10-01), and CPR Rescue (HEA E05-01).
