Oakton Courses Promote Family Participation

Enjoy "family time" by enrolling in single-session classes offered by the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College. The following courses meet at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.

Mother/Daughter Makeover Day (HEC S70-01) provides cosmetic tips from a professional. Bring your own makeup to learn correct application techniques. Class is recommended for ages 13 and older. Course meets 1 - 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14. Course fee of $69 includes both participants.

Street Smarts for Kids (REC E95-01) explores child abduction and attack techniques, plus strategies on how to handle threats and abuse by adults. Course is taught by a police officer and geared to children ages 5 -10. Class meets 9 -11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 21. Course fee is $25.
