Choose from a variety of noncredit fitness and recreation classes offered this winter by Oakton's Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL).Swing Dancing (PED E86-01, Touch-Tone 06787) introduces swing and jitterbug basics, and then progress to more advanced steps, including the walk-over and the "mooch." This eight-week course meets from 8 to 8:45 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Feb. 5, at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Ave., Skokie. The course fee is $80.
Co-ed Volleyball (PED S52-01, Touch-Tone 06512) reviews basic skills and game strategy. Players at all skill levels enjoy challenging competition in a round-robin tournament. This seven-week course meets from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Feb. 6, at Niles West High School, 5701 W. Oakton St., Skokie. The course fee is $75.
Other fitness and recreation courses include Latin Line Dancing (PED S67), Learn How to Scuba Dive (PED S27), Boating Skills and Seamanship (REC E12), and Individual Personal Training (FIT P01).
Students who have registered for ALL classes within the last five years or a credit course in the last three years may register by using the Touch-Tone system at 847-635-1616 or by fax at 847-635-1448. Both methods require payment using a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover).
