Intermediate ESL students who have trouble reading English are invited to enroll in free fall reading classes offered through the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College. Classes are funded by the Illinois Community College Board, the Office of the Secretary of State, and the Illinois State Library. The purpose of these free classes is to develop better English skills for personal or employment purposes. Students may discuss individual goals with a counselor during registration. Free reading classes start in mid-September, and meet at various times and locations throughout the district.

9:15 - 11:30 a.m., Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood St., Des Plaines.
9:20 - 11:30 a.m., Oakton Community College, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.
12:15 - 2:45 p.m., Northbrook Public Library, 1201 Cedar Lane, Northbrook.
Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005:
9:15 - 11:30 a.m., Skokie Public Library, 5215 Oakton St., Skokie.
12 - 2:15 p.m., North Suburban YMCA, 2705 Techny Road, Northbrook.
Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005:
12 - 2:30 p.m., Golf Mill Shopping Center, Entrance 1, Golf Road at Milwaukee Ave., Niles.

Registration for fall evening classes will be held:

6:45 - 8:30 p.m., Niles Public Library, 6960 Oakton St., Niles.
6:45 - 8:30 p.m., Northbrook Public Library, 1201 Cedar Lane, Northbrook.
