How to Press Flowers (BOT E57-01) allows students
to learn how to press and dry flowers to extend their beauty. Class
meets 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Chicago Botanic
Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe. Course fee is $74.
Landscape Painting (ART D25-01) offers students the
opportunity to be inspired in a natural setting – Oakton’s
beautiful Des Plaines campus. Six-week course meets 1 – 3 p.m.,
Friday, starting Sept. 5, at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus, 1600
E. Golf Road. Course fee is $105.
Harvest Treasures Preserved (BOT E59-01) demonstrates
various methods for preserving your favorite flowers, foliage, and
fruit. Course meets 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, at
the Chicago Botanic Garden. Course fee is $37.
Prairie Plant Identification in the Field (BOT E58-01) provides
instruction in identifying individual prairie species and common plant
families. Course meets 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6,
at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Course fee is $74.
Bonsai: Beginner Basics and Fundamentals (BOT E37-01) covers
the principles and techniques to appreciate and participate in the
art of bonsai. Six-week course meets 1 – 4 p.m., Sunday, starting
Sept. 7, at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Course fee is $224.
