Oakton Offers Reading and Writing Bridge Program

Adults whose native language is not English and who have trouble reading and writing are encouraged to enroll in the Bridges to Academic Reading and Writing courses offered by the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College, in cooperation with area high schools.

Bridges to Academic Reading and Writing focuses on developing the skills necessary to successfully pursue GED or college credit courses. Classes meet twice weekly for 20 weeks starting in mid-April.

Mid-spring registration for evening reading and writing classes will be held 7 - 9 p.m. on the following nights:
Monday, April 4, 2005
Oakton Community College, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie (Reading)
Tuesday, April 5, 2005
Oakton Community College, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie (Writing)
Glenbrook South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., Glenview (Reading)
Maine East High School, 2601 Dempster St., Park Ridge (Reading)

Mid-spring registration for daytime reading and writing classes will be held 9:20 - 11 a.m. on the following days:
Monday, April 4, 2005
Oakton Community College, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie (Writing)
Tuesday, April 5, 2005
Oakton Community College, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie (Reading).
