Spanish
speaking students may learn basic computer skills in their native
language this fall by enrolling in classes offered by the Alliance
for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College. All featured courses
meet at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road.
Computer Basics (DPR E01-02) is for students who
have no prior computer knowledge. Learn the basics of Windows, Microsoft
Word, and e-mail in a supportive environment. Three-week course meets
Mondays, 7 - 9 p.m., starting Sept. 25. Course fee is $65.
Introduction
to Microsoft Word (DPR A83-06) shows how to create, edit,
print, and enhance your documents with fonts, graphics, and formatting
techniques. Three-week course meets Wednesdays, 7 - 9:30 p.m., starting
Oct. 11. Course fee is $75.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel (DPR A84-06) demonstrates
how to use this popular spreadsheet used by many businesses, organizations,
and individuals. Three-week course meets Mondays, 7- 9:30 p.m., starting
Oct. 30. Course fee is $75.
