by land or sea, take up a new sport by enrolling in Alliance for Lifelong
Learning (ALL) courses at Oakton Community College.
Golf
I (PED SO2) provides the fundamentals of golf including grip,
stance, rules, and etiquette. Choose from four different times for
this seven-week course. Golf I meets for seven weeks at Golf Center,
353 N. River Road, Des Plaines, at four different times: 7 - 8 p.m.,
or 8 - 9 p.m., starting Tuesday, March 9; or 7 - 8 p.m., or 8 - 9
p.m., starting Thursday, March 11. Participants are required to wear
rubber sole shoes and bring a 5 iron to class. Course fee is $175.
Learn
to Scuba Dive (PED S27-02) teaches the skills necessary to become
a PADI Open Water Diver, the most popular scuba certification in the
world. This six-week class meets 7:30 - 10:30 p.m., starting Thursday,
April 1, at Maine East High School, 2601 Dempster St., Park Ridge.
Students are required to bring their own mask, fins, and snorkel.
A textbook (approximate cost $26) is available the first night of
class. Course fee is $99.
Other
available recreation and wellness classes include: Scuba Divers
- Rediscover Your Sport (PED S26-02) and Natural Solutions
for Allergies and Sinusitis (HEA E71-01).

who have registered for ALL classes within the last five years, or
for a credit course in the last three years, may register by using
