Oakton Offers Travel and Foreign Language Courses
Feed your wanderlust, or simply learn a new language, in classes offered through the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College.
Travel Tips (REC E40-01) provides domestic and international travel advice from an instructor with more than 20 years of travel agency experience. Two-week course meets 7 - 9 p.m., Tuesdays, starting March 8, at Glenbrook South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., Glenview. Course fee is $25.
France on Your Own (REC E39-01) provides tips for getting around the world's top tourist destination. Two-week course meets 7 - 9:30 p.m., Tuesdays, starting March 9, at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $29.
Conversational Spanish (LSP E08-01) gives an introduction to Spanish vocabulary and culture. Eight-week course meets Mondays, starting April 4, at Maine West High School, 1755 S. Wolf Road, Des Plaines. Course fee is $154.
Modern language class offerings also include: German II (LGE B02-01), More of Italian III (LIT C03-02), Japanese II (LJA B02-01), Assyrian I (LSY B01-02), and Assyrian II (LSY B02-02).
