cuisine, and self-improvement are among the course topics offered
by the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College
starting in February. Classes are available evenings and weekends
at various locations.

Chicago's Lyric Opera Season Part II (MUS C38-01) previews
the upcoming Lyric Opera of Chicago season, including Falstaff
and Eugene Onegin. Course features musical excerpts and background
on each composer. Four-week class meets Thursday, 6:30 - 8 p.m., starting
Feb. 7, at Niles West High School, 5701 Oakton St., Skokie. Course
fee is $75.
Brain
Gym® (HEA E63-01) is a program used worldwide to help
people improve their skills in reading, writing, memory, and other
learning challenges. Bring plenty of drinking water and wear comfortable
shoes. Course meets 6:30 - 9:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, at Glenbrook
South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., Glenview. Course fee is $35.
Venice:
Think of All Those Pigeons As Squab (HEC E79-02) uses an
Italian restaurant as the backdrop for providing insight into sophisticated
Venetian cuisine. Course meets 7:30 - 9:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8, at
Va Pensiero, 1566 Oak Ave., Evanston. Course fee is $60.

(COM E69-01), Plumbing Preventive Maintenance (TEC B68-01), Automobile
Repair (TEC C14-01), and Financial Planning Basics (FIN E33-01).
