The
Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College is offering
more than 150 courses this spring, starting in April.
Writing
for Children (COM E68-02) studies the essential elements of youth
literature, including plot, character, and dialogue. Six-week course
meets 7 - 9:15 p.m., Mondays, starting April 4, at Maine West High
School, 1755 S. Wolf Road, Des Plaines. Course fee is $115.
Jewelry
Design (ART C98-01) shows how to produce your own personalized
pendants, bracelets, brooches, rings, and earrings. Eight-week session
meets 7 - 9:30 p.m., Thursdays, starting April 7, at Glenbrook South
High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., Glenview. A materials fee of $20 is
due at the first class session. Course fee is $150.
Co-ed
Volleyball (PED S52-02) provides an opportunity for players at
all skill levels to play a round-robin tournament. Seven-week course
meets 8:30 - 10 p.m., Thursdays, starting April 7, at Niles West High
School, 5701 Oakton St., Skokie. Course fee is $75.
Cooking
Around the World (HEC C26-01) demonstrates how to create delicious
dishes from a different country each week. Four-week course meets
7 - 9 p.m., Mondays, starting April 11, at Niles North High School,
9800 Lawler Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $85.
