Dynamite Google Tools (DAT E08-01) showcases the many free
hidden gems in Google’s toolbox. Learn how to create blogs and
podcasts, organize digital photos, and use online documents and spreadsheets.
Session meets 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, at Oakton’s
Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Course fee is $19.
Travel Tips (REC E40-01) provides domestic and international
travel advice from an instructor with more than 20 years of travel
agency experience. These tips will save you money and help you travel
more safely. Two-week course meets 7 – 9 p.m., Thursday, starting
Oct. 16, at Glenbrook South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., Glenview.
Course fee is $25.
Savvy Home Buying in This Market (REL E19-01) offers
tips for purchasing a new home. Financing and insurance also are covered.
Two-week course meets 7 –10 p.m., Thursday, starting Oct. 16,
at Niles West High School, 5701 Oakton St., Skokie. Course fee is
$49.
CPR, First Aid, and Disease Prevention (HEA E01-01)
provides instruction for medical emergencies, including heart attacks,
fractures, and bleeding. Upon successful completion, students will
receive a one-year CPR and a three-year standard first aid recognition
through the American Red Cross. Two-week class meets 9 a.m. –
1 p.m., Saturday, starting Oct. 18. Course fee is $75.
Other courses include: Knitting (HEC S20-04), Introduction to MS Excel
(DPR A84-05), Nature Photography (ART E19-01), and American Gospel
Music (MUS S96-01).
