Computer
workshops on basic graphic design and the popular Japanese art forms
of anime and manga will be offered March 20 and 21 by
the Alliance for Lifelong Learning at Oakton Community College. These
new courses for students in sixth grade and up are scheduled at both
Oakton campuses in Des Plaines and Skokie.
On Saturday,
March 20, students may register for either Computer Graphics/Design

such as creating an action hero or comic strip character, and printing
out the results on a poster, book cover, or game cards. Students work
at their own pace and projects may be completed at home.
Parents
who accompany their children may register for Blocking the Internet
I, to learn how to better monitor their child's e-mail, chat room,
and Web access on the Internet.
On Sunday,
March 21, students may register for either Computer Graphics/Design
II or Japanese Anime/Manga II. Parents only may sign up
for Blocking the Internet II.
