Write Your Way to Success Through Oakton Courses

Enhance writing skills or tap into hidden creativity by enrolling in courses offered by the Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL) at Oakton Community College.

Improve Your Business Writing Skills (COM E37-01) focuses on writing better memos, reports, letters, and resumes. This four-week course meets 7 - 9 p.m., starting Monday, March 29, at Maine West High School, 1755 S. Wolf Road, Des Plaines. Course fee is $69.

Creative Writing and Self-Discovery (COM E43-01) can help you transform creative visions into poems, stories, or articles that will interest others. This seven-week class meets 7:30 - 9:45 p.m., starting Wednesday, March 31, at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $125.

Write and Produce a Newsletter (COM S14-01) instructs how to plan and create a newsletter in a timely and creative manner. This six-week course meets 7 - 9 p.m., beginning Monday, April 12, at Maine West High School. Course fee is $115.

Other writing classes offered by ALL include: Freelance Writing, (Part I - Writing and Selling Articles) (COM E72-01), Freelance Writing - Part II (COM E90-01), Novel and Short Story Writing (COM S12-01), and Poetry Writing (COM E88-01).

Students who have registered for ALL classes within the last five years, or for a credit course in the last three years, may register by using the Touch-Tone system at 847-635-1616 or by fax at 847-635-1448.
