Oakton Emeritus Program Examines Islam

Learn about one of the world's oldest religions in a three-week class offered by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College.

Islam's Story (HIS B03-61) examines the history of Islam from its beginning to the present. Course also considers religious, political, and cultural facets, giving special attention to Islam's role in state building. Three-week course meets Thursdays, 2 - 3:30 p.m., starting Aug. 24, at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. Course fee is $40.

Oakton's Emeritus Program offers credit and noncredit courses, lectures, seminars, and tours, while providing a chance to share learning experiences with peers age 50 and over.
