Paul
Gauguin (1848-1903), Master of the Tropics (ART C08-61) examines
the unconventional life of this influential painter. Gauguin's bold
artistic experiments in color helped form the basis of modern art.
One-week session meets 1 - 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Oakton's
Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. Course fee is
$20.
Nature's
Majestic Symphonies (MUS B11-61) allows participants in a
unique garden setting to enjoy and become more familiar with symphonic
works that were inspired by nature. Four-week course meets Thursdays,
10 - 11:30 a.m., starting Nov. 2, at the Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000
Lake Cook Road, Glencoe. Course fee is $60, which includes parking.
Oakton's
Emeritus Program offers credit and noncredit courses, lectures, seminars,
and tours, while providing a chance to share learning experiences
with peers age 50 and over.
