Oakton Emeritus Offers Art and Yoga Classes

Enjoy art and physical education courses offered by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College. All featured courses meet at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.

Drawing/Watercolor (ART C19-71) presents new drawing and watercolor techniques. Five-week course meets 12:30 - 2:30 p.m., Mondays, starting April 25. Course fee is $75.

Henri De Toulouse Lautrec: His Life and Times (ART C95-71) chronicles the life of this French painter who is best known for his work depicting Paris' café society. One-week seminar meets 10 - 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 27. Course fee is $20.

Beginning Hatha Yoga (PED S10-73) teaches stretching, breathing, and relaxation techniques to relieve stress. Students should bring a small pillow and a mat or towel to class. Five-week course meets 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., Wednesdays, starting April 27. Course fee is $66.

Intermediate Hatha Yoga (PED S11-72) is for those who have attended Beginning Hatha Yoga and wish to advance in their practice. Five-week course meets 10:45 - 11:45 a.m., Wednesdays, starting April 27. Course fee is $66.

akton's Emeritus Program offers credit and noncredit courses, lectures, seminars, and tours, while providing a chance to share learning experiences with peers age 50 and over.
