Discover
connections between the religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam
to ancient Egyptian theology at Oakton Community College's new coffee
house series. The "What's Brewing?" series will be held on six consecutive
Fridays in the library of the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln
Ave, Skokie.
The six-week
program, The Ancient Egyptian Foundations of Judaism, Christianity,
and Islam (PHL E49-71) meets 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., starting Feb.
20. Course fee is $90.
The
coffeehouse series, sponsored by Oakton's Emeritus Program, also explores
Western spirituality and analyzes ancient texts including the Book
of Genesis, the Egyptian Book of the Dead, the Gospel of John, and
the Pyramid Texts. Keeping with the coffee house tradition, discussions
will be served with java and a sweet treat.
