Courses focusing on fitness, religion, and world
events are available by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College
this fall. All featured courses meet at Oakton’s Skokie campus,
7701 N. Lincoln Ave.
Tai Chi (PED E30-61) teaches peaceful exercise techniques
and is best practiced in loose clothing and stocking feet or comfortable
flat shoes. Six-week course meets 1:15 – 2:15 p.m., Monday,
starting Sept. 8. Course fee is $72.
Advanced Tai Chi (PED E31-61) further challenges
students to enhance their level of awareness and relaxation. Six-week
course meets 12 – 1 p.m., Monday, starting Sept. 8. Course fee
is $72.
Why Religion? (PHL E83-61) explores the psychological,
spiritual, and biological roots of religion. Ten-week course meets
10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Friday, starting Sept. 12. Course fee is
$120.
International Week in Review (PSE B04-61) offers
an analysis of global current events. Eight-week course meets 1 –
2:30 p.m., Friday, starting Sept. 12. Course fee is $100.
