Oakton Emeritus Program Offers Diverse Lectures

Enjoy thought-provoking discussions offered by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community College. All featured lectures meet at Oakton's Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.

Europe: A Commentary examines the subcontinent's military, political, and economic struggles for unity. Lecture meets 1 - 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4.

Italian Neorealism: A New Cinema for a New World details the movement by Italian filmmakers to portray the realities of post-World War II life. Films to be screened and discussed include Rome, Open City and The Bicycle Thief. Lecture meets 1 - 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9.

Tai Chi details an ancient form of exercise to reduce stress and connect the mind with the body. Lecture meets 1 - 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 16.

Oakton's Emeritus Program offers credit and noncredit courses, lectures, seminars, and tours, while providing a chance to share learning experiences with peers age 50 and over.
