2008-2009 Metropolitan Opera and Telecast Preview
(MUS B61-71) offers a sneak peek of the Met’s live HD telecasts
for 2008-2009. Noted opera lecturer Robert Yaffe provides background
information on each composer and opera, highlighted by audio and video
excerpts. Operas to be previewed include: La Rondine, Madama
Butterfly, and La Sonnambula. Six-week course meets
11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Thursday, starting Jan. 8, at Oakton’s
Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave. Course fee is $100. Registration
does not include the cost of admission to an HD telecast (presented
at more than two dozen movie theaters throughout the Chicago area).
