Register now for Passages, a potpourri
lecture series offered by the Emeritus Program at Oakton Community
College. The six-week series runs 1 – 2:15 p.m., Thursdays,
starting July 24, at Covenant Village, 2625 Techny Road, Northbrook.
The series begins with The Election of 2008, a look
at the candidates and key issues of the upcoming presidential election.
Other lecture topics include Tiffany craftsmanship in Chicago
(July 31); master artist Rembrandt (Aug. 7); British
crime novelist Dorothy Sayers (Aug. 14); the Pulitzer
Prize-winning book, Guns, Germs, and Steels: The Fates of Human
Societies (Aug. 21); and The Old West
(Aug. 28).
The series fee is $24 for in-district residents age 60 and over, and
$39 for out-of-district residents and those under age 60. Half-price
tuition does not apply to the Passages series.
