English
Country Houses "The Great and Good Places" (ART C48-71) provides
a close look at some of England's most noted country houses including
the Jacobean Hatfield House, the Burghley House, and the Petworth
House. Class meets only Thursday, March 18, 10 - 11:30 a.m., at the
Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. Course fee is
$20.
Ansel
Adams & the American Landscape (BOT E08-71) explores the work
of one of the 20th century's most renowned photographers, Ansel Adams,
who was known for his pictures of western American landscape. Class
meets only Friday, March 19, 10:15 - 11:30 a.m., at the Chicago Botanic
Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe. Course fee is $20.
The
History of Biblical Israel and Beyond: From Exodus to the Last Revolt
(HIS E98-71) analyzes the development of Israel and the Jewish people
from the time of their escape from Egypt to Bar Kochba's revolt against
Rome. Ten-week course meets 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Thursdays, starting
March 18 at the Ray Hartstein Campus. Course fee is $110.
Students
age 60 and over who reside within Oakton's district pay half-tuition
for Emeritus noncredit classes. Those who have registered for an Oakton
credit class within the last three years or an Alliance for Lifelong
Learning noncredit class within the last five years may register using
the Touch-Tone system by dialing 847-635-1616. Touch-Tone registration
requires payment using a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover).
